Phlix ("the App") is an independent, third-party photo and video browser that connects to a Plex Media Server that you own, operate, or are authorized to access. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is processed, and what choices you have. By using the App you agree to the processing described below; if you do not agree, do not use the App.
Phlix collects anonymous product-interaction data (which features are used, where things break) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or tracking. Phlix does not collect your name, email, photos, library contents, server name, server address, or Plex account information. You can opt out of analytics entirely in Settings → Privacy.
Phlix collects anonymous product-interaction data to understand which features are used, where users encounter problems, and how to improve the app. This data is sent to PostHog (US Cloud). The analytics implementation is a custom, dependency-free client — no third-party SDK is embedded in the app.
What is collected:
What is never collected:
You can opt out of analytics entirely in the App under Settings → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage data." When opted out, no data is sent and any queued data is deleted.
The App contains no advertising frameworks, no tracking pixels, and no session-replay tools. No ATT (App Tracking Transparency) prompt is required because no tracking occurs.
The following information is stored on your device only and is never transmitted to the developer:
This information is deleted from your device when you uninstall the App. It is not backed up or transmitted to the developer.
While running, the App communicates directly with the following third parties. The developer is not party to and does not intercept these communications.
If you choose to save downloaded media to your device's Photo Library, the App will request the iOS "Add Photos Only" permission. That permission is used solely to save media you explicitly choose to download. The App does not request, read, or access your existing Photo Library content.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, no special procedures are required for users of any age. Parents and guardians should be aware that the App requires a Plex account and access to a Plex Media Server, and should ensure that content accessible via that server is appropriate for any child using the App.
Because the developer does not collect or store any personal information about you, there is nothing for the developer to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. To exercise the equivalent of access, correction, deletion, or portability rights with respect to data stored on your device:
Data stored on your own Plex Media Server is under your control, not the developer's. Data Plex, Inc. and Apple, Inc. hold about you is governed by their respective policies linked above; please contact them directly to exercise any rights with respect to that data.
The developer does not "sell" or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. The anonymous analytics data collected by the App is not linked to any individual and does not constitute personal information under the CCPA/CPRA.
The anonymous analytics data collected by the App uses a randomly generated device identifier that cannot be linked to an identifiable person. Where Plex, Inc., Apple, Inc., or PostHog, Inc. acts as a data controller or processor in connection with your use of their services, their respective privacy policies and data-controller obligations apply. You can opt out of analytics at any time in Settings.
The App uses the iOS Keychain to store sensitive credentials (Plex authentication tokens and server connection details). Network requests use HTTPS where supported by your Plex Media Server. No transmission over the internet or storage on any device can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you assume the residual risk of using the App.
The developer may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
